ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi will embark on a two-day visit to Nepal today (Monday).
According to a Foreign Office spokesperson, matters pertaining to bilateral cooperation between two countries will come under discussion. Ways to reinvigorate SAARC as an important regional organisation will also be discussed.
During the visit, the premier will convey felicitations to the Nepalese leadership on the successful conclusion of its democratic process, resulting in the formation of a new government.
Abbasi will also call on Nepalese President Bidhya Devi Bhandari.
According to a statement, the prime minister’s visit will expand and strengthen bilateral relations in different fields including trade, education, tourism, defence and people to people contacts. Earlier, Nepalese Ambassador Sewa Lamsal Adhikari had called on the premier on Friday and conveyed the welcome message from the Nepalese leadership to him.
