LAHORE – Federal Minister for Ports and Shipping Senator Kamran Michael led high-level delegation on Tuesday left for Rome to meet Pope Francis at the Vatican City.
Talking to the APP at the Allama Iqbal International Airport prior to departure, he said the visit to the Vatican City would further help in strengthening Pakistan’s stance on the war against terrorism and highlight Pakistan’s sacrifices in this war on the international level.
He said the world acknowledges Pakistan’s sacrifices in the war against terrorism in a better way today. Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Sardar Muhammad Yousaf is also among the delegation.
Senator Michael said the delegation would convey Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s invitation to Pope Francis to visit Pakistan by the end of this year. He said the delegation would also call on the secretary of State Vatican City.
